Mechanical engineer
Hire a mechanical engineer for product design, building systems or industrial equipment, with Finch confirming licensing status and relevant experience.
Finch helps GTA employers hire engineers, engineering interns and CAD drafters with the right experience and licensing status for their projects.

Engineering hires carry real responsibility. The people you bring on design products, structures and systems that must be safe, buildable and compliant, and their work is often reviewed by clients, regulators and inspectors. Finding a candidate with the right discipline, software skills, project experience and licensing status takes time that most project managers and business owners do not have while deadlines keep moving.
Finch Employment recruits engineering and design professionals for employers across Toronto and the GTA on a retainer basis. We learn about your projects, codes and software, then advertise, source and screen candidates against those requirements, including their status with Professional Engineers Ontario where it matters. You meet a shortlist of suitable people, we arrange the interviews and we follow up after the start date.
Licensing status varies widely, so you need to know whether a candidate is a P.Eng., an EIT in the licensing process or not yet registered with PEO.
Engineering experience is highly specific, and a candidate's background in one sector or code environment may not transfer directly to your projects.
Software skills such as AutoCAD, Revit, SolidWorks or analysis tools vary from firm to firm, and training gaps can slow a project down.
Internationally trained engineers bring valuable experience, but you need a clear picture of their Ontario licensing progress and the scope of work they can take on.
We run engineering & design searches for employers across Toronto and the GTA, including North York, Scarborough, Etobicoke, Vaughan, Markham, Richmond Hill, Mississauga, Brampton, Oakville, Burlington, Oshawa and Pickering, and for employers across Canada.

Yes, with limits. Graduates and internationally trained engineers often work under the supervision of a licensed engineer while they complete PEO's requirements, and many are registered in PEO's Engineering Intern Training program. Only licence holders may call themselves professional engineers, use P.Eng. or take professional responsibility for engineering work. Confirm your specific obligations with PEO or your legal adviser.
Yes. Strong design teams rely on drafters and technical staff as much as on engineers. We recruit CAD drafters with experience in AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, SolidWorks, Inventor and other tools. Some technical staff hold certification as technicians or technologists through OACETT, and we confirm that status when it matters for your role.
We screen internationally trained candidates on their actual experience and ask where they are in PEO's licensing process, including academic assessment, experience requirements and the professional practice exam. That gives you a clear picture of what they can take on now and what supervision they need, so you can make an informed decision.
