Finch Employment

Healthcare & wellness recruitmentPharmacy and life sciences recruitment in Toronto and across Canada

Finch recruits pharmacists, pharmacy technicians and the regulatory, clinical research and quality specialists that health product companies depend on.

Pharmacist checking a prescription in a community pharmacy

Pharmacies and life sciences companies hire people whose work is closely regulated and whose mistakes can reach patients. A community pharmacy needs pharmacists and technicians registered with the Ontario College of Pharmacists who are comfortable with the volume and services you offer. A drug or device company needs specialists who understand Health Canada submissions, good clinical practice or good manufacturing practices. Finch takes on these searches so your pharmacists, quality leads and managers can stay focused on their own work.

We recruit for community and hospital pharmacies across Toronto and the GTA, and for pharmaceutical, biotech, device and natural health product companies in the GTA and across Canada. Each search starts with a consultation about the role, the regulations it touches and what you can offer. Searches are retainer-based, with fees agreed per position. We then advertise, source and screen candidates, confirm registration and credentials, and arrange interviews with the people who suit your role.

Why pharmacy and life sciences hiring needs a specialist

Pharmacists and pharmacy technicians must hold the right OCP registration, and register part, injection authorization and any terms on the register all affect what they can do.

Regulatory, clinical and quality experience is narrow: a specialist in generic drug submissions or sterile manufacturing may not suit a device, natural health product or clinical trial role.

Experienced candidates are usually employed and hearing from other employers, so reaching them takes direct outreach and a clear description of what your role offers.

A hire who misreads a regulation or skips a step can lead to inspection findings, recalls or patient harm, so screening has to go well beyond the resume.

How we screen pharmacy & life sciences candidates

  • Ontario College of Pharmacists registration, register part and any terms, conditions or limitations
  • Injection authorization, minor ailments training and other scope-related training for pharmacy roles
  • Health Canada submission, GCP or GMP experience matched to your product type
  • Professional certifications such as RAC, CCRA or ASQ credentials, confirmed with the issuing body
  • References from pharmacy managers, heads of quality or clinical project leads

Pharmacy & life sciences recruitment: questions employers ask

Do you recruit for pharmacies and life sciences companies outside Toronto?

Yes. Pharmacy searches usually focus on Toronto and the GTA, including York, Peel, Durham and Halton. Regulatory, clinical research and quality roles are often hired nationally or work remotely, so we run those searches across Canada by phone and video from our Toronto office. Pharmacy professionals are licensed provincially, so we confirm registration with the regulator in your province.

Will you present pharmacy candidates who are not yet registered?

Our focus is on candidates who are already registered with the Ontario College of Pharmacists, or who are near the end of registration and can show where they stand on the public register. Every candidate we present is already eligible to work in Canada. If you are open to supporting someone through the final steps, we discuss timing with you before arranging interviews.

How does a pharmacy or life sciences search with Finch work?

We start with a consultation about the position, your products or services and the regulations involved. Once the retainer is in place, we advertise, approach candidates directly and screen their registration, certifications and experience. You receive a shortlist of suitable candidates, we arrange the interviews, and we stay in touch through the offer and after the start date.
