Finch Employment

Skilled trades & industrial recruitmentManufacturing recruitment in Toronto and the GTA

Finch recruits production, quality and supervisory staff for manufacturers and processors across Toronto and the GTA, so your lines stay staffed with people who fit.

Production worker inspecting parts on a manufacturing line

A production line only runs as well as the people on it. When an operator leaves or a new contract adds volume, you need someone who understands safe work practices, can follow a standard operating procedure and will show up ready to learn your equipment. Finch Employment recruits permanent manufacturing staff for plants in North York, Vaughan, Brampton, Mississauga and the rest of the GTA, from entry-level production roles to the supervisors who run the floor.

We work on a retainer, with the fee agreed for each position before the search begins. You tell us about the product, the equipment, the schedule and the kind of person who succeeds in your plant. We advertise, source and screen, then send you a shortlist of suitable candidates and arrange the interviews. After your new hire starts, we follow up to make sure the fit is working for both sides.

Why manufacturing hires are hard to get right

Turnover on the production floor is costly, and every early departure means retraining, lost output and more overtime for the people who stayed.

Resumes rarely show whether someone can read a work instruction, use a measuring tool or keep pace on a line without cutting corners on safety.

Plants in Vaughan, Brampton and Mississauga often run early, late or rotating schedules, and candidates who cannot commute reliably tend to leave quickly.

Food, automotive and other regulated manufacturers need people who understand documentation, lot traceability and audit requirements, which narrows the pool considerably.

How we screen manufacturing & production candidates

  • Hands-on experience with the equipment, products or processes your plant uses
  • Ontario's mandatory health and safety awareness training, plus WHMIS where it applies
  • Reliable transportation to your site for the hours you run
  • Attention to detail, measurement skills and comfort following written procedures
  • Work history, references and the reasons behind past job changes

Manufacturing & production recruitment: questions employers ask

What manufacturing roles does Finch recruit for?

We recruit production workers, machine operators, assemblers, quality control inspectors, packagers and production supervisors. Most searches are for food and beverage, plastics, metal fabrication, packaging, automotive parts and consumer goods manufacturers across the GTA. If your role is more specialized, such as a CNC setup person or a lead hand, tell us in the consultation and we will confirm whether it fits our search process.

Do you provide temporary or on-call staff?

No. Finch is a recruitment agency, not a temp agency. We find people you hire directly onto your own payroll, and your new employee works for you from day one. That keeps your team stable and avoids the ongoing markups that come with agency staffing. Our fee is agreed per position and paid as a retainer to start the search.

How do you check that candidates can work safely?

We ask about the safety training they have completed, such as Ontario's mandatory worker health and safety awareness training, WHMIS and lockout procedures, and we talk to references about how they followed safety rules on the job. You still provide site-specific orientation and training, but you start with people who take safety seriously.
