What a drywall installer does
Drywall installers frame interior partitions, hang gypsum board on walls and ceilings and, in many companies, tape and finish joints ready for paint. On commercial projects the work often includes steel stud framing, bulkheads, acoustic ceilings and fire-rated assemblies. Their speed and accuracy affect how quickly finishing trades can follow, and their attention to detail is visible in every finished room.
Some installers focus on hanging board while others specialize in taping and finishing, and the skills are not the same. Finch asks about the systems, finish levels and project types you work on, then screens candidates to match. We check safety training for work on scaffolds and lifts, confirm production habits with past foremen and introduce you to people who can keep up with your schedule.
